Born in 1994 in Orenburg, Russia. Lives and works in Italy. Alisa Martynova studied foreign philology in her home country before embarking on a photography programme in Italy at the Fondazione Studio Marangoni (Florence), which she completed in 2019. While she was studying, she was an assistant for the Riverboom collective. In 2019, she won the Premio Combat Prize and was second in the Premio Canon Young Photographers. She projected her work at the launch event of the 2019 Rencontres d’Arles. Also in 2019, she was selected as one of the finalists for the Photolux Award and the PHmuseum Women Photographers Grant. At the beginning of 2020, she was chosen to take part in Giovane Fotografia Italiana, a section of the Festival Fotografia Europea (Reggio Emilia), as well as being nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. She is currently a member of the Italian photographic agency Parallelozero.
