Jaakko Kahilaniemi (FI, 1989) Lives and works in Helsinki. He studied photography in Finland at the Turku Arts Academy and then at Aalto University, the higher school of art, design and architecture. Jaakko Kahilaniemi has exhibited in particular at the Denver Art Museum, at Voies Off in Arles, at the Benaki Museum in Athens, at the Klompching Gallery NYC, at FOTOFLUSS Wolkersdorf, at the Fotografisk Center Copenhagen, Noorderlicht Photofestival (Amsterdam), the Festival de Photographie Hyères, the Fotofestiwal Łódź and the Festival Circulation(s) (Paris). He won the ING Unseen Talent Award (Amsterdam, 2018), the Datong international photography display prize (2019) and the Backlight prize (Helsinki, 2017). His 100 Hectares of Understanding series was the subject of a publication in 2021.
