Jean-Marc Caimi is French-Italian, Valentina Piccinni is Italian. They have been working together since 2013. They work on documentary and photographic projects, paying particular attention to the human and personal aspects for each of the stories. Their work is presented regularly in the press and media all over the world (Der Spiegel, Politico, Le Monde, L’Espresso, Internazionale, Wired, GQ, Newsweek, The Sunday Times). They have won a number of awards, including the 2020 PHmuseum Of Humanity Grant in the category for personal exhibitions, the 2019 Sony World Photography Award in the “Discovery” category, the 2018 Istanbul book photo prize, and the 2016 Gomma Photography Grant for best documentary in black and white. They have exhibited all over Europe and Asia, including at the Biennale Für Aktuelle Fotografie (Mannheim), the Delhi Photo Festival (Delhi), the Lumix Festival (Hanover), FotoLeggendo (Rome), PhEST (Monopoli), and Voies Off (Arles). They have already published five books, some of which have won awards.
