Born in 1978 in Bathmen, Netherlands. Lives and works in Amsterdam. Graduated in Photography from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, Krista van der Niet is a professor at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She works in the fields of applied photography and autonomous art, and uses them as a breeding ground for one another.
Her work can be found in several collections (including ING Collections) and has been shown in The Hague, Amsterdam (including the FOAM), Tromsø, Moscow, and Paris. Her photos have been published in magazines, such as Opéra Magazine, ART news, Steidz Magazine, ELLE-magazine, Volkskrant Magazine, among others. In 2003, she received a grant of the Mondriaan Fund.
