Still Life? - PBF04 / Krista van der Niet

Krista van der Niet plays with the traditional theme of still-life and celebrates absurdity and daily life in her images.
Her compositions are created in a studio-setting which enables her to have control of her work. She considers that in a still-life, everything can be investigated in so many different ways.
Each of her photos starts from a sketch that changes during the process, by lucky accidents and serendipity. She wants to create sceneries that surprise, where absurdity and daily life are celebrated. Her work intends to generate: “a twist or a puzzling thought, some uncomfortableness for the viewer is essential.”
