Working with old taxidermy techniques, Sinke & van Tongeren are enable to create extraordinary poses.
Trophées de Chasse sans Victimes is a classic hunting scene for which not single animal has been killed. The artists were inspired to create this intriguing layered work by the tension between the image of death and destruction, and the animals that died of natural causes in zoos or farms. They mounted a large number of animals to create this 17th century composition. This one refers to the famous theme of ‘hunting still life’ from the Netherlands and the work of famous painters like Asselijn, Hondecoeter, Weenix, Snyders.
